Interchange

Aim

To provide respite to families with a child with a disability and social opportunities and expereinces for the child by providing care through a volunteer host or host family.

Participants

Child or young person with a disability aged up to 18 and their family and a volunteer host or host family.

Description

The Interchange programs provide flexible respite services for children and young people. Volunteers care for a child or young person on a planned regular basis, usually once a month in the volunteers own home.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Interchange you need to:

  • live in the Ararat, Ballarat, Golden Plains, Hepburn, Moorabool or Pyrenees Shires
  • have a child or young person (up to 18 years) with a disability
  • receive the Carers Allowance

Referral Information

Anyone can make a referral as long as the family has given its consent.

Referrals are lodged through the Connecting Care website.
